Nightwing #149

As expected, this issue was A-MAZING!

The basic plot (and spoiler) is that Nightwing fights against all of Batman’s famous rogues gallery, which were created by Scarecrow’s fear serum. The fear serum was injected in prior issue, which was coated on a bullet Two-Face used to shoot at poor Nightwing :(
… lots of drama-lama,… Nightwing’s too late to save Carol; who gets shot by Two-Face.

rofl.

Nightwing fails once again.
PHAIL!

Anyway, this issue had tons of Kill Bill-esque ultra violence.
Which I thought was pretty damn cool :]

But I didn’t really dig the art too much.
I’ve seen better, and it should’ve defiantly been better since it’s an amazing issue.

I’m trying my very hardest to get her into American Comics, because that’ll mean she’s buy tons of TPBs! … which I’ll get to read :]

On with the post…

… maybe,… just maybe, he should leave the jokes to Joker.
There’s a link with the death of Jason Todd, which gives this issue another brownie point.

Ahhh~, and this issue’s pretty touching too :'[ Because of the serum, Nightwing’s seeing things, and in one of his delusions he sees his parents falling. But Nightwing saves them in a nick of time, and says…

[I’m sorry I can’t be butt-fucked to scan this…]

“Is this my mom and dad holding tight to me? No. Of course not. But it sure feels good to be together again even if it’s only a figment of my imagination”

I bet he’s gonna get hooked to drugs after this.

And yea, Carol gets owned.

After Two-Face, Harvey, found out she died, he goes on a bitch-fit and shouts that Nightwing was supposed to save her from his alter ego.

Didn’t like the ending of the issue too much. It continues onto #150 of Nightwing’s crossover with Batman R.I.P., which might I add that there’s barely any links with thus far.

Mao’s Aemazing movie night – Cube

I came up with an awesome idea of having a movie night with Aeizzle.

“Ae lives all the way in the US, and you live in HK, so how does this work?”

All we do is go onto msn, choose a movie to watch, and make it go in sync.
Get a popcorn while we’re at it!
It’s actually just like watching a movie with a friend, but there’s more talking since we type instead of talk.

And if I get a webcam we’re gonna have facial expressions :)

So i chose the first movie; Cube (1997)

“Six different people, each from a very different walk of life, awaken to find themselves inside a giant cube with thousands of possible rooms. Each has a skill that becomes clear when they must band together to get out: a cop, a math whiz, a building designer, a doctor, an escape master, and a retard. Each plays a part in their thrilling quest to find answers as to why they’ve been imprisoned.”

Basically a Saw-esque film.

A low budget film, un-known casts, but damn! It’s actually an amazing movie. Tons of twists and turns. Literally made me say “Say whaaat?!”, on msn; “omg!” or “x.x!!!”.

Near the end of the film, true colours of the characters are revealed. Lets just say they turn out to be the opposite of what they were.

Just expect the unexpected xD

I also believe that the cube itself represents the many different sides of people. He told me to add that because it sounds so clever! :D

And the colours of each rooms evokes the emotions, as well as building tensions. The director’s amazing at building-up tension!

By the end of the film you’ll sit back in your chair, slumped, and think to yourself how far the characters have come since the beginning of the film… and reflect on your mathematical skills…

The only thing we didn’t like much was the ending.
It. made. me. go. ugh!

So what we learned from this film is…
– Don’t doubt our gut-feeling
– HxC people always die first, so don’t be HxC
– Lie down in a fetal position and don’t move
– Stay in school and study math
– All autistic people are Rainman; bribe them with gum drops
– Black people are ninjas; agility and stealth-wise
– Long dialogues will result to your death
– Love does not conquer all

Basically I REALLY enjoyed Cube…. and here’s Ae’s aemazing thought;

We both ended-up agreeing that his actions can be justified due to his desperation to escape, and return to his family. Who knows, maybe we might end-up doing the same thing as him.

But I know I’ll probably stay in one room, cry to myself, and survive… hah! :)
