Today was full of DC-awesomeness!

FOUR awesome DC Comics awesomeness happened to me today.
and I didn’t even buy any comics!

Plus, I was indoors for the whole day. Yay! A typhoon was passing by Hong Kong, and it was MADNESS outside.

So how was I granted DC Comics awesomeness even though I was up to my geekerky for the whole day?

Batman: The Brave and the Bold!

I guess it’s aimed at little kids… but dude, it’s awesome. Just watch the trailer all right?!
Was it awesome, or was it AWESOME?!
Basically, Batman teams up with other superheroes every episode. Not just Blue Beetle, Ollie without his beard and Elastic Man. But also with Jonah Hex (wtf, didn’t see the coming), Green lantern Corp, Flash etc. (crossing finger for Nightwing!)

and dontcha just love the music? It’s like those 70s/80s lounge songs. And strangely, the first thing that came in mind was Cowboy Bebop and Lupin the 3rd.

So uh… the first DC awesome thing that happened to me today was finding, watching and enjoying the trailer of Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

I ordered DC shirts from Animation Shops!
… well I technically didn’t, because they don’t ship to Hong Kong *shakes fist*. So I pretty pleased my brother (with a cherry on the top of course) who lives in Japan, to buy it for me! And guess what, IT WORKED!

I’m OVER THE MOON!

I wanted The Flash shirt for SO long, but the other site I was planning on purchasing it from only had XL. I was mega bummed. But then I came across Animation Shop. So yay for me!

But my brother tends to take his time to send parcels… so I won’t be expecting it anytime soon.

I’m still happy tho :D
*does the happy dance*

I finally convinced my mom to buy me Batman: Gotham Knight on Amazon (Japan)! … and it’s the Japanese DVD version, so I guess the menu’s in Jap but everything else is the same as the English version?

I hope so.

I would’ve bought it at HMV/CD shop, but I couldn’t effing find it! I went around most DVD shops I know the day it was released, but they didn’t have it. I went again next week to check, they didn’t have it. The week after that, nada. I must’ve appeared severely lame.
Yeah, I was annoyed. They had the new Birds of Prey DVD, but not Gotham Knight.

Ok, in a nutshell; it’s six Batman adventure in six different art style. Imagine Animatrix, then throw Batman into the picture,… and take away the whole Matrix story.

Tell me that doesn’t look hardcore!

I’m hoping that it would be great! It looks awesome, so I’m like 80% sure it’s gonna be brill!

And guess what I’m looking forward to tomorrow!

I’m going to my weekly visit to the comic book shop! *does happy dance again!* :D Hopefully the TPB I ordered is there, and along the way I’ll pick up Nightwing #147.
Hey, I thought it would be an awesome timing to jump into Nightwing monthlies. It’s a 4 issue Batman R.I.P. tie-in, and Two-Face probably plays a big role by the look of the cover!

and in #149, he fights against all of Batman’s rogues! It’s gonna be insane! and awesome!

I’ll also pick up Final Crisis: Rogue’s Revenge #1 for the sake of Flash. Hopefully the comic book store still has some left! :x

Ace, the Bat-Hound!

Ace first appeared in the Silver-age Batman series. A crime fighting dog, GENIUS! He’s supposedly a German Shepperd, but he looks more like a Great Dane to me.

I think it would be so sweet if the dark and mysterious Batman has a soft spot for his Acey!
Batman: “Aren’t you a good little Acey? Who’s a good boy? WHO’S A GOOD BOY? Yes your are, you shweet wittle pumpkin!”
*Robin walks in*
Batman:” … he… I…” *whips out a Batarang, and does his Bat-glare*

You know, when I grow up and own a house and a steady job, I want an Australian Sheepdog and name him Ace. Also a ferret called Hubert (Bertie) and a hedgehog called Oscar.
Yes I’m lame, get over it.

… gotta love the old ‘holy guacamole’ Batman!

Ace is so hardcore, that he gets to wear Batman’s extra Bat-undies as his costume!
… lucky bastard.

It’s a little creepy to know that a dog can identify its owner in photos. Ace shouldn’t be fighting crime! Instead he should be blackmailing Bruce for a life of luxury. And Batman,… why does he keep a picture of himself and Dick in the Batcave? oh wait, it’s totally normal for Batman, since he hangs pictures of himself as Batman and Superman in Wayne Manor.

It’s no surprise that Bane and Two-Face found out his identity.

To be honest, I didn’t know about Ace the Bat-Hound until I came across Krypto the Superdog few months ago.
And this episode is when Ace meets The Dog Stars (a group of super-powered dogs).

Ace is what keeps the show full of awesomeness!, because Krypto is… well… um… boring to watch. Ace also does the Bat-glare and proclaims himself to be Batman’s partner, and not a pet. Fuckin’ hilarious.

Now, lets talk about My Favourite Comics.

THE FLASH!

Most under-rated Superhero ever!

Who is he?
The Flash, duh. The Fastest Man Alive. The Scarlet Speedster. MY FAVOURITE SUPERHERO!

Which Flash is my favourite? WALLY WEST OFCOURSE!
I get so hyped everytime I talk about him.

You might think he looks camp in red fullbody spandex, but the man filling the suit is so lovable! I love the family aspect of him! All the speedsters are somehow connected (by blood or not), and he mentors his own kids to become great superheros! He’s one of the most relatable character in the DCU too, as he was a normal kid, and got his power by pure luck & his power is to run REALLY fast (tap into the SpeedForce!).

I can do what Flash does, he just does it better!

The Flash’s comics are the only single-superhero comic I read, along with Bart’s run as the Flash and Impulse (Impulse… one-word: LOL!) . The rest of my TPBs are basically team superhero comics.
What can I say, i love Flash!

Hmmm… lets talk about him in cartoons. I do enjoy his cocky, arrogant and flirty persona in the Justice League/Unlimited cartoon series. His one-liners are fuckin’ hilarious! Eventhough that’s more down Elongatedman’s department in the comics, DCAU’s Flash is equally as awesome :) ohoh, and Kid Flash in Teen Titans (cartoon series), thought by many fans to be Wally West too, has such a cute boyish-flirty speedster!
And The Flash in The Batman cartoon series? I only watched one episode with him in it. I heard he’s supposed to be Barry Allen? … and The Flash not being voiced by Michael Rosenbaum was slightly awkward :p

and just to make it clear… I do love Batman, Nightwing, Arsenal, Superboy, Gambit etc. But the level of my support and fandom for The Flash will always be a notch higher than them.

One thing I enjoy about Marvel…

First thing first, I’m really happy to know that people out there are viewing my blogs! I thought I was talking to myself, and that I was the only one getting the kickout of my ’em. (Yes, I do believe my blogs pretty awesome)
So thanks!

Second thing… if this is the first time you’re reading my blog, you need to know that I root for DC Comic and I don’t… really like… Marvel. >_< Just not liking the fact that there are more people who knows Marvel, compared to DC.
… and the previous blog which i talked about Marvel (Runaways) got the MOST blog views.

UGHHHH, WHY PEOPLE, WHYYYYY????!!!!!!!!! STOP SEARCHING FOR MARVEL TAGS!

If you like Marvel, then give DC Comics a shot. It’s not all about Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

So, what I really enjoy about Marvel. You herad that right, what I like about Marvel is…

The Rogue and Gambit coupling!

Marvel fans are going to hate me for saying this, but they are the best thing about Marvel! And being a Gambit fangirl they are the HOTTEST COUPLE EVER!

Gambit was my first ever superhero crush! I was a pre-teen (I’m pretty sure I wasn’t even double-digit y/o), crushing on a bad-boy X-men! I grew up watching the old school X-men cartoon on Sunday mornings (Spiderman and His Amazing Friends was on before X-men. And after X-men, Goosebumps was on!), and one of the biggest reasons I watched X-men back then was to catch Gambit in action.

Wait, that might’ve been the only reason. I didn’t really get the storyline anyway… hah… *laughs*

And the cooler thing is, I thought Rogue was the best female character in it! and I also thought the way she talked was cool :) And I still think she’s one of the more attractive super-heroine.

Years go by, and just recently I found out that Gambit and Rogue are an actual couple! I was so ecstatic! And I paraded around reading tons of Rogue/Gambit fanfictions.
But this didn’t neccesarily mean that I would pick up the X-men comics.
I’m happy with reading fanfics.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Rogue and Gambit are the best superhero couple out there!
